Swans | The Great Annihilator | ReviewThe Swans, all things considered, are rather unfortunate. The Swans, all things considered, are rather unfortunate.
Knocking around since the early '80's, they still haven't been acknowledged as a wonderful band. Though verging dangerously on the prog rock side of rock, this album is a mighty specimen indeed, with gigantic monolithic epics abounding and a production sound akin to that of a cathedral interior. Some would claim The Swans take themselves too seriously but when you consider the world-wide success of tosh like "The Division Bell," this atmospheric delight being largely ignored is proof positive of what a cruel world it is.
